As well as performing together, Laura and Charlotte offer private tuition on individual instruments. Having taught privately both from home and in the BBMA tuition tent at Didmarton Bluegrass Festival as well as teaching larger groups at the prestigious Sore Fingers Summer Schools, they have experience teaching a wide range of abilities and age groups. They have also visited schools, presenting bluegrass music in an engaging and child friendly way.

In October 2011, Laura and Charlotte set up the Bath Bluegrass School with John Breese. Together they offer private lessons for Bluegrass Banjo, Fiddle, Mandolin, Guitar, Dobro and Clawhammer Banjo. They are also able to put on tailor made workshops for any event.

In November 2009 The Carrivick Sisters did a short tour of some local primary schools. Here's what the Devon Music Service thought:

‘ The Carrivick Sisters tour of Kingsbridge Learning Community Schools in Devon was a huge success and feedback from teachers has been wholly positive. The workshops had been thought out very carefully to appeal to the right age range and they were presented in a relaxed and engaging way, including opportunities for the audience to sing choruses, move in imitation of the instruments and clap and dance. The information about the instruments was put across in a clear and positive manner. Most importantly the playing was wonderfully polished and professional and this is what drew in the childrens’ attention. I can thoroughly recommend them to other schools and I think their confidence in presenting to children has developed greatly throughout this experience.’
